Composition:

Each 1 ml contains:       

Sulphadiazine sodium                       218.45 mg  

(Equivalent to 200 mg sulphadiazine)


Trimethoprim                                  40 mg



Properties:

Theracanzan is a sterile solution formulated as injectable preparation composed of trimethoprim and sulphadiazine.

The action of this combination proved to be bactericidal, whereas the components separately were only bacteriostatic in action.

Theracanzan has a strong bactericidal action against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria, a large proportion of anaerobic bacteria, Chlamydia and protozoa.


Indications:

Theracanzan is indicated in the treatment of acute, subacute and chronic conditions of bacterial origin in horses, cattle, pigs, dogs and cats.


Dosage and administration

Cattle and Pigs

Route of administration: By intra-muscular administration for rapid response in acute infections or by slow I.V injection.

per 16 kg b. wt. daily for 5 days.

Horses
     
Route of administration: By slow I.V injection.
3ml
Theracanzan
per 50 kg b. wt. daily for 5 days.

Dogs and Cats     
Route of administration: By subcutaneous injection.

1 ml
Theracanzan
per 8 kg b. wt. (30 mg/kg. b.wt) daily for 5 days.

Carton box containing 10, 30, 50 & 100 ml injectable solution with outer label and insert leaflet.
